Mostly I wouldn't slash anything by MacDonald. Except for the one thing where I totally am.
I would not slash The Secret Garden.

I do believe there might be a glancing reference to smell in the bit of Tolkien where Aragorn is healing the hobbits with kingsfoil. Though I could be wrong, as it has been a few years since I read the trilogy.
