Signal-boosting post:
A friend of mine-- a registered nurse who speaks Creole-- is just up and going, planning to work with people she knows in Haiti who were already in the country doing volunteer work before the earthquake hit, and have now set up an impromptu clinic. If you want to paypal her money, or mail her a) medical supplies, b) a cheap camera, or c) a long cotton skirt (there's a story behind this one), check her out here: http://kellidunham.livejournal.com/398098.html?style=mine#cutid1. While I've only met her in person once, I've been reading her journal for years, and I think she is both an honorable and sensible person who will be able to do a lot of good.
