I think there should be a name for it, something like Otaku's Law, but I have observed that whenever someone tells you that there is no native culture where they come from -- be they American or British -- the fact is that there is a culture, and it's so "low-class" to them that it simply never occurred to them that it is theirs, for better or for worse. So they never ask themselves the hard questions about their own feelings towards that culture. Is that enough pronoun usage with unclear antecedents?
