I don't think I'd mentioned my aggravation with American Gods in any public forum, but I entirely agree and I'd take it further. Not only did Gaiman leave out actual American religion, he didn't get the popular culture right, either. The computer thing wasn't mostly marketing droidism--there was and is a tremendous amount of interest in getting computers to work.

I'd like to see something like American Gods done by someone who was actually interested in the country.
