Replace "imposing religious views" with "imposing views." I've had therapists who were all "Well we all know that non-monogamy is bad so this relationship is just broken, you should break up." I've had therapists who were all "Well, the right way to handle problems like this is blah." The one I would call out by name if he hadn't retired was all "You need to dress like X, you don't even look like a woman. Why are you so aggressive?" For reals. So... yeah. It's not just religious views. It's values. I bet you we've had this conversation before though :)
