Disclaimer: Matsushita Yoko-sensei created these fine people, not me. But I kind of hope she might like what I do with them.
Summary: I’m not sure whether or not to call this an angstfic. On the one hand, it is about Hisoka confronting his feelings for Tsuzuki in the aftermath of being raped and killed by Muraki, and it’s true that he spends much of the story terrified, furious, and in tears.

On the other hand, he deals with it.

Call it a “getting over angst fic,” I suppose. Direct sequel to Exorcism.

PS: Almost forgot! I just wanted to add how much I love the title you chose. Did you get it from the final scene of the anime, where Hisoka talks about how one day he'll surpass Muraki? That's what it reminds me of... it's the perfect title for this story.

If you want more angst that's fun at the same time, come join the chorus of Yeomen of the Guard! There's a funeral march, a headsman with an axe, attempted assault, a fake murder, a jester who drops dead at the end, lots of incredibly gorgeous music, nice co-performers, and...um...COSTUMES! What could be more glorious?

Hey, it definitely was the best Tsu/His fic I've ever read (and I've read a lot, even too much, maybe)! I got hooked from the very first sentences. I love your characterizations of every single character, I love the cameos of Watari and Tatsumi, I love the dynamics of Tsu/His relationshios... it seems so in-canon!
